In this session, Taking the Android tablet to school, you’ll learn more about the various learning options that a tablet adds, both inside and outside the classroom, and how to use the tablet as a resource device or an additional resource generator. You’ll also learn how to use the tablet for recording and record keeping. An important part of this session deals with internet safety and security. Useful apps for this session includes Google Play Books, YouTube, Facebook, Gmail, and Google Drive.
By the end of the session, the participant will:
- appreciate the learning options that a tablet adds to learning, both inside and outside the classroom
- be knowledgeable about recording learner progress and keeping digital records of learner-generated content
- appreciate the safety and security concerns that need to be dealt with when using the internet.
You will be asked to complete a summative task at the end of the session. You have a copy of this task in your Class Notes for your reference only. Please note that you must complete the Badge Assessment Task online. No printed, scanned, emailed, or faxed copies of the task will be accepted.
Notional Learning Time
When you get your certificate, you will notice that we have indicated Notional Learning Time. This is the amount of time we expect you to spend on achieving the outcomes of this session. It is made up of the two hours of the training here, and then the time taken to complete your Badge Assessment Task. It is an estimate and you may find you spend a little less time, or perhaps a little more.
